Today, we’re excited to officially announce that we’ve launched ARC at Uxbridge.  Uxbridge Business Park has a new name – ARC Uxbridge – exciting plans to improve our facilities and has joined a growing network of over 250 science and tech organisations.

From today, you will see new signage, a new website, brochures and social media channels as well as an updated app where you can find out everything that is happening at Uxbridge. Going forward we have exciting plans to further develop the site too.

At ARC we’re passionate about bringing organisations together in place-based clusters, creating unique ecosystems that stimulate innovation to accelerate commercial growth for all of our members. At Uxbridge we already have a growing number of pharmaceutical and biotech organisations alongside innovative businesses like Xerox and we’re excited to grow that community further. Work by Harvard Professor Michael Porter and other experts show the evidence for the cluster effect is clear, that alone we can only go so far: together we go further.

We will be providing all of our member organisations with access to premier facilities including; science-ready space and flexible open access co-working spaces and it’s no different at Uxbridge. For example we’re busy renovating Building 01 to create Grade A flexible accommodation, which will also see the introduction of a new outdoor roof terrace, and we will be keeping Adapt, our flexible workspace.

We’re also working behind the scenes on some big plans to add even more facilities at Uxbridge, which will increase the oppportunity for people to meet up, socialise and connect with others. Watch this space, because as soon as we can let you know more about our plans we will share updates here and on our social media channels.

We want to connect people from across our wider ARC portfolio. To enable this we’re developing a tailored membership package, that will include business mentorship and advice, a programme of leadership events, community events as well as a bursary scheme to encourage more women into science and tech. We’re hoping that all of our member organisations at Uxbridge will benefit from being ARC members.

Our sites in Oxford and Hammersmith will also change later this year. The ARC portfolio also includes the 700-acre Harwell Science and Innovation Campus – a joint venture with the UK Government.

All that leaves us to say is we’re hoping to create a better environment for innovation so that our member organisations can help change the world.
