ARC Appoints Sebastian Johnson To Support Growing Ecosystem
ARC, (Advanced Research Clusters), Europe’s leading network of science and innovation clusters, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sebastian Johnson as ecosystem director to its management team.
Sebastian will drive the continued expansion of ARC’s cluster network, by building connections with future members across Oxfordshire and the Golden Triangle. ARC’s network currently consists of over 300 leading science and innovation organisations across the life sciences, space, energy and quantum sectors.
Stuart Grant, CEO at ARC, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sebastian to our team as we look to create long-term meaningful partnerships to help science and innovation businesses solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. Sebastian’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the Oxfordshire ecosystem will help us to realise our growth plans for ARC, by concentrating innovation across our place-based clusters.”
Sebastian Johnson, added: “I’m looking forward to working with the team at ARC and using my experience and knowledge of the Oxfordshire ecosystem to help grow the network, foster connections and share and promote the impactful work of ARC’s members.”
Sebastian is joining from OxLEP, where he was head of innovation and inward investment. This saw him working alongside Government and local partners to develop an Internationalisation Strategy and Delivery Plan for Oxfordshire promoting the world-class innovation, assets and skills available across the county.
Sebastian joins the growing team at ARC which has trebled in size since 2020. By the late 2020s ARC is set to invest over £1 billion in Oxfordshire across the ARC
Oxford and Harwell Campuses. ARC’s growth strategy reflects demand for high-quality innovation space, and could see the current 600,000 sq. ft Oxford City space double in size as it brings new laboratories, offices, amenities, and cutting-edge R&D facilities to the campus.
